Services
Eric is available for hire as a recording engineer, mix engineer, producer, or a combination of the three. Though based in Central Massachusetts, he mixes remotely through the wonders of the internet. He has intentionally designed his workflow to take his services on the road for on-site recording with clients in other regions.
Recording Engineer
Hire Eric to record your next project using an array of professional microphones and mic preamps. He will be there to take care of microphone choice, placement, and recording gain stage, while you focus on performing your best takes. He can provide encouragement and feedback on your performance where desired, and assist in determining when you’ve got the best take. After the tracking session, Eric will provide you or your mix engineer 24 bit WAV files for the mixing stage.
Mix Engineer
Eric is available to mix down your recorded tracks into a polished stereo file ready for mastering. Eric mixes in Logic Pro X in his acoustically treated home studio, equipped with Sonarworks, using a combination of outboard analogue gear and digital technology.
Mastering will take your mix to the final distribution-ready stage. Eric works with the extremely talented Jason Deift (www.JasonDeift.com currently under construction) for the mastering phase of his mix projects. However, he is happy to work with a mastering engineer of your choice.
Producer
Eric sees his role as producer being similar to joining your music project. His passion and energy for excellence will impact your work from start to end. With Eric as producer, the work will begin in-advance of the studio sessions. Eric will offer feedback and insight on song readiness by helping to finalize song structure, co-write lyrics, arrange instrumentation, and hire/coordinate additional session musicians. On recording day he will run the session, including mic choice, position, and gain staging. He will also act as the central hub between you and the session musicians. He will help establish a positive and supportive tone for each session, ensure the schedule moves at a productive and comfortable pace, provide feedback and encouragement on performance, all to support the creation of your best song.
As a producer, Eric will negotiate a split of the publishing and distribution rights of the final song. This level of buy-in further establishes his commitment to making the best music possible.
Live Tracking & Mixing Room
The Harvest Roots Recording facility is currently located in the acoustically treated “second bedroom” of Eric’s apartment. If a project requires a larger recording space, Eric’s can bring his microphone & preamp collection to work in a room of your choice.
